I recently purchased a Pico Automotive Lab Scope and have just begun creating and saving a waveform library for my truck.

I plan to acquire these samples while the truck is running great so that in the event of a problem or concern, I can repeat the relevant tests and compare the waveforms.

Examples are cam/crank signal relationships, Injector waveform, fuel pump current trace, CAN Bus, alternator ripple, starter motor, sensor signals…..etc.

I thought I would start this thread to discuss with anyone interested or build similar waveform libraries.

I will be happy to share any of my captures with anyone who needs them.

This is a fascinating concept but not likely to have many lookers.

Thanks, you are probably correct; I just thought I would throw it out there and open it up for discussion.

    I like this.

    Hopefully, others chime in.

Makes a lot of sense to me.

But I don’t know that much, hahaha.

We have a forum with FCA that started a thread of known good waveforms.

At some point when I finally get free time, I’ll weed through them and pull the Cummins ones.

Pico scope is an awesome tool it’s saved me countless hours on diags when FCA decides they won’t share diag info or are completely wrong on the info they do a release.

    Outstanding!

A comprehensive library of sensor waveforms would be of great value!

I'd be interested in seeing the output waveform of something like a NOx sensor.

It seems like it would be near impossible to get a stable trigger on.

Another favorite of mine would be to see variances in the output of the IBS (intelligent battery sensor), pin 1 orange wire.

    Thanks,
