    Re: Cummins Oil Wood Preservative?

I wonder if I should do it to the boards on my new flatbed trailer.

I used it on everything else.

    Don't use power steering fluid.

I've found that it somehow causes red oak to rot super fast.

    Thanks for the heads up.

I don't know why I didn't consider doing the trailer I just bought.

I do our poop spreader with oil, so I might as well do my flatbed if all this rain ever stops.

I will do a 50/50 mix of used oil and diesel this go around.

I will definitely get some pictures when I get it done for everyone.

I thought about doing this to my deck flooring on my tilt trailer, but wouldn’t that cause the decking to be slick, especially if it’s wet?

Yes, especially for the first few months.

    Sawmill lumber or store-bought?

I did mine today on my flatbed, and I love it.

I like the look of the dark stain and knowing it won't rot.

I will get a picture of it tomorrow, and I had no problem walking on it.

I guess it will be more slick than the way it was before

That’s why I’m concerned about it being wet/rainy and trying to load my tractor on it.
