    Floor Jack Position?

Where is everyone placing their floor jack to lift the truck?

Many people (and the manual) say the axle tube is closest to the wheel.

Many people also seem to say not to use the axle tube as it could collapse, given the weight.

It also seems the consensus is the pumpkin is a no-no.

I'm looking to do some routine brake maintenance.

    Floor Jack Position?

I’ve always used the pumpkin or the lower shock mount area.

    Never a problem.

Same here; also used the axle tubes without issue.

I always use axle tubes for the jack stands as well.

The only thing I learned not to use the tubes for jacking is on campers and other trailers; I have tweaked a couple of those.

I like to use the shock mount when only doing one side, as the jack pad holds on nicely.

    Re: Floor Jack Position?

I usually lift by the pumpkin and then use jack stands on the axel tube between the shock mount and hub.

At the front, I put the jack on the control rod mount then the jack stands to get placed under the frame rails.

Axle tube, one side, set jack stand, then over to other side, set jack stand.

I had to buy a new floor jack, 3.5 tons, and lifting one side at a time is hard.
