I was thinking about all this after my recent experience of almost getting stranded cross-country towing my 5th wheel when the DEF pump went south.
I've never once cut a cat off a gas burner because they work reliably, and you don't end up stranded if an O2 sensor fails.
Can you imagine the torches and pitchforks if every time an O2 sensor failed, you had 150 miles to fix it or were stranded?
And the fact remains, the more uncle sam tries to clamp down, the more offshore interests will move to fill the void, and the more things will move underground and/or open source.
And if they REALLY want to do good, all they'd have to do is come up with something like the gas burners, which it's effective, transparent and doesn't leave you stranded.

It's infuriating that the EPA never enforced anything for years, leading companies to believe they were ok to sell all this stuff to pull the rug out from everybody years down the road.
Same playbook as the ATF and every other 3 letter dumpster fire.
If you jump the border or run drugs, you're in the good graces of the US government; god forbid your tax-paying *** wants the $80,000 vehicle you paid for to run right.
That is why we locked down here!
We hate the government and the EPA!
They are wicked, evil people!!

Thats hilarious, and you get the money back when you purchase tuning.
No one forces them to join.
They always have to cry about something typical liberals do.
Over the past few years, their policies have cost us blue-collar workers.
