    Battery Replacement Time?

I live in the SW Arizona area, and it's time to replace the batteries.

No, I'm going to complain too much.

The truck is an 18, and the batteries are the original.

I am looking at both AGM and SLA.

I want to get some ideas on what to get that will last.

Usually, I recommend AGM, but the jury is still out on a final decision.

See my post below; I'm still doing okay on my warranty replacements.

    Thanks, Bob.

I wonder if AGM has an issue with the Alaska cold.

I remember hearing something about that when I was stationed in Fairbanks.

Being in SW Arizona, cold is not an issue.

I was reading something about an intelligent battery sensor.

Do you have more info on that?

Yes, I agree it’s probably a cold weather issue, something you won’t have to worry about down there, LOL.

I have attached the information on the IBS; basically, you need to disconnect all power from the IBS so it can re-learn the new batteries.

I have AGM, same as Bobs; of course, I live in the southeast and have had them since 2020 with no issues.

    Thank you for the info.

So when I replace both batteries, everything will be disconnected at the same time, so it should go into a relearn.

If you disconnect and replace one battery at a time, it will not relearn and cause issues if I read it correctly.

What would be some good choices for AGM?

EverStart Platinum AGM Battery, Group Size H7 (12 Volt 850 CCA) - Walmart.com

I was looking at this one.

    Price dont seem too bad.

Yes, exactly; you want to disconnect both batteries simultaneously so the IBS will lose power.

Don’t try to keep from losing voltage by just swapping out one battery at a time.

Group size 94R is the same size as the H7.

The one you found sounds good with 850 CCA.

Attached is a link with some more information and some other possible options.

    Re: Battery Replacement Time?

So I picked up some new AGM batteries and replaced the stock ones.

The truck started with no problems.

Now I have a new issue.

The climate control is not working correctly.

When I go into settings on the Uconnect (radio), I miss a lot of stuff.

There are no trailer options, no suspension with the auto air, no XM radio, and no driver options.

It seems like the Uconnect settings menus just disappeared, mostly fundamental stuff.

All I did was change out two batteries.

How do I fix this issue?
