Thread: 2014 RAM Trans Cooler Flow Rate?

2014 RAM Trans Cooler Flow Rate?

I have a 2014 RAM 2500 with the 68RFE trans with the stock cooler.

Does anyone know what the flow rate is?

There’s not a listed flow rate on 68RFE

I wrote down some that I tested, some that were known as good, and some that had low flow rates due to worn pumps.

I’ll try to find it in my notes.

It’s been a few years though.

    What problems are you having?

    I don't have any problems.

I just put a Suncoast converter in, and they want the flow rate for the warranty.

    Thanks.

    Interesting.

    I didn’t know that was a thing.

I use Revmax Gorend and Florida torque converters on builds and have never been asked that.

Yeah, they want a cooler flow rate, CVI, and line pressure.

I have everything but the flow rate.

How would I actually test my flow rate?[/

Jeez, that’s a lot of irrelevant info just for a torque converter.

I guess since the cooler flow is essentially what unlocks the converter.

If you had an issue with they would get a call saying, “Hey, this converter stays locked all the time,” LOL.

Anyways, to answer your question, remove the line to the cooler and dump it into a bucket, then measure the amount of fluid in the bucket.

I would think they want the amount to flow in 10 seconds or something like that.

That's what I thought, but I guess it's what they think they need, so I'll do my best.

You probably want all that info to keep people from filling out the warranty paperwork.

What line works best, upper or lower? Or doesn't it matter?

The upper cooler line is the cooler supply.
