Exhaust Smell In Cab - 2014 RAM 2500

I have noticed an exhaust smell in the cabin lately, which hasn't always been there.

My truck is deleted, so no Regen cycle is happening; I have a @Geno's Garage cab filter kit, but it has not been installed yet.

Will this filter fix it, or should I be looking at something else for the cause?

I would rather not have that smell and anything that comes with it in the cab with myself and a toddler (more so him).

    Which kit do you have?

Are you talking about the one for the cowl or the one between the cab and the bed?

It may help a little, but it won’t eliminate the smell totally.

Check your exhaust for soot/ leaks, especially where the pipe attaches to the turbo.

I have the one that gets cut and installed into the cab ductwork between the firewall and the occupants.

Oh, you also have the pressure vents between the cab and bed that I have heard can be faulty, and cause exhaust smells to come in.

I’m not sure that that filter you’re talking about will remove the odors.

See this link for more information on the cab pressure vents.

The design for these vents has been updated.

Are you saying I should also check these vents out on top of the turbo connection to the exhaust?

Sounds like you have an exhaust leak that is entering the cab.

I recommend looking for the exhaust leak first, then seeing where the exhaust gases enter the cab.

The rear pressure vents are a possibility, especially if you find an exhaust leak in that area.

The filter in the heater duct will not eliminate the smell.

Re: Exhaust Smell In Cab - 2014 RAM 2500

After reviewing the exhaust, specifically at the turbo, it seems the flange/lip from the first set of pipe connecting to the turbo is cracked.

I am guessing that this is where the smell is originating from.

However, when I look up my old order at PPEI for part "AD506TB-MD" to replace it, it seems the part is no longer available..

I'm guessing this is some EPA thing to remove straight pipes from online retailers?

Any suggestions on how I go about getting a replacement turbo downpipe?

It's a 5" straight exhaust from the turbo all the way back.

    It's a 5" down pipe or 4".

I think in most cases the down pipe is 4" and has the flared outlet for allowing the 5" to recess over for the rest of the exhaust.

I could be wrong, but I'll try to surf the web for you.

    Edit: https://77exhaust.com/exhaust-for-dodge-2013-2018/

Could email them or call and see if they can order the piece, you need vs the whole kit.
