Front Tire Worn Outside - Help Needed In DFW Area

Previous Michelin was worn out outside and did not improve after 4-wheel alignment and rotation.

    All 4 were bad outside.

They were only 1.5 years old and had maybe 30K miles on them.

I changed four new tires two weeks ago and found the front got more worn outside than the inside front tires.

If anyone lives in the DFW area, could you recommend an alignment store?

    Thanks!

Sorry, I'm in SC, but I had the same issue with Toyo's at 30k.

I went to a different tire shop after the new tires showed signs of wear again and was told the camber was off.

It might be your issue as well.

    Thanks.

I just have a wheel alignment 2 months ago, will have to find a reliable shop to check it.

I went to a local store in January last year, and the technician told me that two upper ball joint movements caused uneven tire wear.

I went to the dealer, and they just performed a free wheel alignment.

Sad it's out of warranty this year.

How do you check the ball joint?

    Thanks.

There are several videos on YouTube for checking the upper and lower ball joints.

    This one is from Moog.

I’m guessing you have too much toe-in.

I had excessive outside wear, and manually adjusting my toe to zero solved it completely.

I will check in the store later.

As I said, I have it aligned this year!

    So did I.

It was set perfectly to the factory alignment specs, but that’s too much toe-in.

If you want tires to wear evenly, you need zero toe angle, and you’d have to ask for that specifically from the alignment shop.

Otherwise, they will just set it to the factory specs.

I have my truck aligned to the specs that Thruen.

    Recommended for his suspension lift.

I have 34k on my tires and 63k on the truck.

    The ball joints are good.

My tires have roughly a 1/32nd to 2/32nd difference in tread wear, mainly on the inside last tread block.

It's more noticeable on the passenger-side tires.

It's my driving style, heavy turns, and maybe having the front tires psi at 50.

How big of a tread depth difference across tires are you seeing?
