    Batteries Died?

So my batteries just took a ****, and they are around a year old and were on the cheap end of batteries.

Now I'm looking at AGM batteries and want advice on what battery brand to get.

Another question is that I don't drive the truck in the winter, and I always put a trickle charger on it and attach it to the driver-side battery.

Is that ok, since both batteries are connected to each other?

    Re: Batteries Died?

I put these batteries in about four years ago.

The batteries have been good to me so far.

They are a little pricey but offer a Good Warranty from Battery Plus.

    Re: Batteries Died?

I have the same batteries and am happy with them so far.

I did have a free warranty replacement of both batteries after three years of service.

I have been on this second set for over a year and have no issues.

You will be fine charging both batteries from the driver side as they are connected in parallel, providing all your battery connections and cables are in good shape.

If you are charging them all winter, you could alternate the battery maintainer between the driver's and passenger's sides once a month as a precaution.

Just a word of advice: when you install your new batteries, disconnect both batteries so the IBS (Intelligent Battery Sensor) can reset and relearn the new batteries.

If you install the new batteries one at a time to maintain the voltage, the IBS will not be reset, and cannot learn to charge the new batteries correctly.

See the IBS Operation information attached.

    Re: Batteries Died?

Well, I just ordered the new batteries from Battery, and I have to pick them up.

I didn't go with the x2 but with Duracell AGM batteries.

They have a 4-year warranty, so hopefully, they will last a long time.

I already pulled both batteries out to take them in for the exchange.
