Truck Freaking Out - Messages On Dash - Disabling Vehicle Functions

I installed a Cat fuel filter kit, which doesn’t accommodate the rear WIF sensor.

So I bought GDP’s WIF sensor fooler because I was tired of having a light on my dash.

I installed it in the morning and didn’t drive the truck until that evening.

I went into town to grab a bite to eat,t and as I was backing into a parking spot, I glanced down and noticed that my backup camera was turned off, and an error message said it was unavailable.

The following day I drove to work, and as I was going, my truck started freaking out.

I had multiple messages popping up on my dash (service ABS, service electronic brake system, and a turn signal out message), cruise control was disabled, and my park assist was turned off.

Also, several times, a message that said something like 4wd system disabled.

Could it be a faulty fooler?

Is my truck just extra picky, KY?

And doesn’t it like having the WIF sensor fooler plugged in in some areas?

Or is it possibly something else unrelated that just happened to happen at the same time?

The truck was excellent until after I plugged in the WIF sensor fooler.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated because, quite honestly, I have no clue where to begin—I’ve gone from one light on the dash to several lights.

I doubt the WIF sensor fooler is causing the problem; it should just be a resistor.

I would try removing it anyway to eliminate the possibility.

    How is your battery voltage?

Do you have any trouble codes?

I tried unplugging it and starting the truck to see if it made a difference, but I never drove it down the road before I plugged it back in.

I didn’t hardly think that could be the problem, but I didn’t know.

I’ve had suitable battery voltage in the past.

The truck is down currently while I am installing my new DDP turbo, so I can’t really check anything right now, but I will take it to AutoZone as soon as it’s back up and running to get a scan tool put on it.

The check engine light is on due to my turbo acting up, so I never thought to check for codes.

I recommend keeping a battery charger/maintainer on your batteries while it’s down for the turbo install.

When you are ready to drive again, disconnect the charger and let the batteries sit for about an hour; the float voltage should be approximately 12.7 volts.

While starting your truck, monitor the battery voltage.

It shouldn’t drop below 10.5 volts while waiting for the alternator to charge.

See the attached example of an excellent cold start with fully charged healthy batteries.

After verifying you have good batteries, I would clear all trouble codes, test drive, and check for codes again.

    Update.

I got the codes read on the truck, and there are three different ABS codes.

They all have something to do with the left rear wheel speed sensor.

It sounds like you are on the right track.

If you need the troubleshooting information on any trouble codes, please list them, and I will post them.

Curious, what software did you use for this?
