G56 Trans Operates Fine Till Warmed Up?

I've been having transmission issues, but only after everything reaches operating temperature.

The truck has been leaking trans fluid for the past two months, but the fluid level is okay.

I'm unsure what's up, but it operates fine when cold and acts up when warmed up.

Changing gears, getting into gear at a stop, and sometimes wanting to grab with the clutch pressed in.

The wanting to grab when the clutch pedal is depressed and hard changing gears sounds like a clutch adjustment issue or possible pressure plate warpage.

Are you experiencing any slippage or chatter?

Have you been able to locate the transmission leak?

Sounds like your clutch may be on its last leg.

How many miles are on it, and is it the original clutch?

    I am not experiencing slippage.

Chatter does come about after it warms up, tho.

I suppose it's coming up on 100k miles.

    Not the original clutch.

    It's on its 2nd clutch.

    250k total miles.

If it's a stock clutch, it's probably time and depends on how you use the truck.

I'm at 120k on my stock clutch, and it doesn't feel the best when I use it.

It slips a little occasionally, and the throw-out bearing makes some noise.

Sometimes, it is a struggle to get into gear.

It sounds like the clutch is not fully disengaging.

There may be some pushrod adjustment, but technically, once the clutch is set after the new clutch, it usually stays in specs for the life of the clutch.

Maybe end of life is near for clutch?

Good time to upgrade that worthless clutch and toss that dual mass flywheel.

Also, while its out, fix that leak too.

Hard shifting puts a lot of wear on the blocking rings (which are also called synchros), so get them fixed.
