    Oil Filter(s)?

The company I work for deals in cat machinery (mainly forklifts/hilos), but I have access to many things "CAT".

I was curious if anyone would know the cross from the OEM oil filter to a cat or Donaldson oil filter number.

I found a couple that i think would be replacements, but I'm not 100% sure.

P558615 or a DBL7349 (this one is supposed to be better filtration)

The OEM I found is an LF16035 from Fleetguard.

2012 2500 SLT - 35's, 5% Tint, Custom Katzkin Leather Interior, NOCO Plug adapter for Block Heater, DRD Weight Loss Program, 4" turbo back exhaust, 20" Rough Country Single Row LED Light Bar, EZ-Lift tailgate, 2 Car Seats, cracker crumbs, and 3 year old french fries

I am running the LF16035 Fleetguard Oil filter on my 2022 at the moment.

The CAT filter that I've seen people run is 396-4596.

The Donaldson filter that I've seen people run is DBL7349 (This filter is 15 microns and should offer better filtration than OEM).

The CAT 396-4596 is also a stock replacement engine oil filter. For the very best engine oil filtration I would recommend adding a bypass filter like the Amsoil EaBP90.

I would say use the Amsoil oil filter.

CAT filters are not what they once were.

    What specifically has changed?

    Re: Oil Filter(s)?

FYI, that cat oem replacement oil filter is not a genuine cat.

The 396 filter is the same as a Baldwin.

I'm not saying there’s anything wrong with it, though.

I’ll stick with the OEM brand or Fleetguard.

Just something about putting a Cat name on a Cummins.
