    What exhaust should I buy?

    Hey All,

So its almost spring time and I want to be able to shake some houses LOL with a new exhaust and put my XRT Pro to use!!! So I've narrowed my choices (not really) down to the following and I want to hear some of your guys opinion:

Option A - simply buy a DPF delete pipe.

Option B - buy a new exhaust system (Turbo back)

    1. If I go with this I'm not sure if I should buy from "flo-pro" "diamond eye" or "mbrp" .... I haven't found much from mbrp and diamond eye I can't tell if its a full straight pipe it looks like it has a muffler....so I think I'm gonna have to go with flo-pro

    2. Aluminized or stainless steel...? I think if I go aluminized I'll just buy a tip....need some advice please

Lastly, 3. 4" or 5"? This one I think I'm gonna lean towards 4" full straight pipe in fear of any droning...

So what do you guys think?? Any input would be appreciated

    -Marc

    What's your budget?

A simple DPF delete pipe and some sime will get you buy for a while. The Stock exhaust flows pretty well when the NOX and DPF are eliminated.

If it were me, I would do the delete pipe and the resistors. It's highly illegal to remove the Catalytic converter.. The DPF is bad enough. You need the sims to eliminate the Regens.

    They stop the Regens.

You can go Cat Back, if you want. . . But this is basically the same thing

Add this to the pipe if you want. There are other options with tips. This is the base pipe. You can always add the tip later.

THe XRT still needs the sims as far as I know.

Call Tyler at TruckWurx. He know this stuff with some insite. I forgot what the deal was.
    I didn't realize you had a tuner.

Based on the fuel economy records for my 08 Ram, I did not realize much gain when I went from a Stage 1 delete (DPF and nox filter) to the Stage 2 delete (cat in down pipe). This told me that the first CAT is not all that restrictive...other forum members have come to this same conclusion. I did notice a drop in EGTs. It was way too loud when we were towing though. I then went to a 5 inch turbo back Magnaflow system (#15986) and once again the mileage was only a small percentage better than the Stage 1 setup. I ran tests with the same tuning to help me determine as best I could how each and every mod helped performance.

Rollin Smoke is not an authorized vendor here so we don't promote him.

Truckwurx will meet any price. His prices are the same as rollin smoke and I found the service a bit better. James is a good guy, I used to buy from him. Hell I promoted him! But Tyler seems to do a better job.
