    2nd Gen Tuner

Since joining the ranks here I have come to the conclusion that I need a lot of things to get my truck to where I know it is reliable. My truck is a 2000 QCSB 5.9 24v with stock turbo and injectors. Have an S&B intake and 4" straight pipe to stacks. So I have been looking at the Edge tuners and Bully Dog. I have looked at these mainly because they also do the monitoring as well as shift on the fly tuning. So my question is, is there a mid range tuner that won't break the bank? I see where most tuners are running a grand. I was hoping for something half that. I really want the older grey juice with attitude. But I cant' find one of those anywhere! I don't need the Color screen and all that jazz. I had a superchips on my half ton and it worked well. But not a shift on the fly option. So what are my options? Any suggestions?

they only make the color screen now
other than those two you will need gauges and the edge comp box is a option too

I have been seeing the comp box a lot. I test drove a truck that had the comp box and played with it a little but I didn't notice the gains. But I also wasn't romping on it too hard. If I could find gauges and a pillar setup that isn't as much as a tuner I would get them. But $300 -$400 for a good set of gauges is crazy! I want gauges first but thought if I could get both for a moderate price I would go that route. But looks like total for tuner and gauges is going to be about a grand either way I go. So what is the most reliable tuner? I heard great things about quadzilla. And everyone has an edge.

Edge Comp or Edge Juice with CS/CTS is your best options.

The EDGE Comp box or JWA will be your best bet!

Yea I have been looking at the comp box. But the Edge EZ looks like it might fit my needs but I don't know if it is adjustable on the fly. It says 3 power levels. All I want is a little extra for towing and some MPG. Coal would be nice but until I get gauges I'm gonna keep my exhaust clean. LOL

On a side note I found the exact tuner I'm looking for used on egay for an 01. Please tell me dodge didn't pull the whole switcheroo and change things in 01 from a 00. I kept reading 98.5-2000 then 2001-2002. Would an 01 tuner work by chance?

I just found a hypertech tuner for sale local. I haven't heard of these guys in years!! is it even worth looking into anymore? I'm still trying to find a quadzilla. The one in the forsale section is tempting. But I want to make sure I can use it.
