    Nox Sensor Delete?

    Hey guys.

New to the forum and just purchased my first Cummins a while back.

About a week ago I had CEL come on. The code was u059f- invalid input from nox sensor b.

I followed a procedure a guy did in a YouTube video to clean the sensor.

It’s been around 100 miles and the CEL hasn’t illuminated so far.

Just for fun I hooked up to the truck this morning to see if the permanent u059f is still there, and it is, along with a pending u059f as well. I wonder if the pending code is because of the already stored permanent code?

Anyway, I’ve been researching ways to delete the Nox sensor.

I would like to keep the def system and everything else working as normal.

I’ve seen some emulators online that claim to be able to plug into the obd2 port and over-ride the info from the nox sensor, while keeping everything else working as normal.

    Are these emulators worth it?

If so, what do you recommend?

    Thanks.

    News to me.

Would be interesting if such an emulator would be a viable option though.

    Re: Nox Sensor Delete?

Hey guys just wanted to give an update on the nox sensor. I suppose cleaning it worked (knock on wood). It’s been around 500 miles and it hasn’t came back. I checked the codes yesterday and the permanent code has deleted itself. For what’s its worth, I soaked the sensor in a Lucas fuel treatment which helps break up carbon. I only soaked it about 30 minutes but some people recommend as long as possible up to 8 or 10 hours. Then I sprayed all the openings on the sensor with carb cleaner, I used about a whole bottle.
