MM3 Tuner - Blinking Red and Green Lights

Sorry for necroposting, but I have been having this issue, and I just unplug it and back in.

This morning I went to water the yard and noticed the MM3 blinking while the truck is off for like 20 hours and looked at the voltage on the truck info center and read 11.

Guess I'll get them tested.

The truck has been starting and operating as normal otherwise.

If your truck is reading 11 volts, trickle charge both or replace both batteries.

It normally starts; when I crank, the computer says it drops to 8.

I have it idling, and it is reading 13v. MM3 reads the alt is at 13.9v.

Yes, it will crank, but the MM3 needs lots of juice, and 11 volts is way too low for it, friend.

Your alternator picks the charge backup on the batteries, but if you let it sit overnight, the voltage is low again, correct?

Have you load tested each battery separately?

I am bringing this back from the dead.

My MM3 started flashing R, R, G, R, R.

I tried unplugging/plugging back in, but no love.

Seeing all this talk about batteries blows my mind; if they have enough juice to turn over and start a 6.7L diesel engine, surely they can power an MM3 and its microscopic milliamp draw that it takes to operate.

I don't think voltage is my issue because it does the same thing whether the truck is running or not.

I will try the SD card format, replace the micro-USB cable, and report back.

Believe it or not, having less than 12.6V in either battery will mess with the electronics.

I ended up disconnecting and re-connecting the connection at the OBD2 port a couple of times, and it hasn't come back, it might have just wiggled loose or something.
