Are you able to monitor rail pressure? I’d start with testing FCA (fuel control actuator) and go from there

No. I'm going to take it to the local shop for them to test the system.

I'm just hoping for something inexpensive LOL.

You can test the FCA really easily yourself and it’s a pretty inexpensive part at Cummins (under $100) about $150 at the dealer.

It’s not common for the CP3 to fail.

If it’s your lift pump those are a bit more spendy.

Fuel filter? Also getting that time of year, what's your weather temps? Could be gelled. Need more info like mileage and things, but sounds like you already have a shop to look at it. Hope its simple, good luck.

Good news.

The filter under the hood was really clogged and the housing was full of dirt.

Got that cleaned out and the filter changed and pressures are back to normal.

Seems like the best case scenario came true.
