    fuel system problems

My 94 12 valve is giving me some problems with the fuel system it ran perfect but I had a small leak on my fuel return line to the tank. I fixed the leak and now I have trouble starting it and when I run it above an idle it will die. Its acting like its running out of fuel. I checked my fuel lines there is no restrictions. It acts like my injector pump jumped out if time. Any other thoughts on what it could be?

Did you get any air in the system when you fixed your leak?

I dont think it got any air in it and if it did it should be out by now. And the lift pump acts like its still working cause it will idle for a few minutes and then it will just die

Doesn't matter. check it out. The lift pumps on those were notorious. You may have damaged your injection pump with fuel starvation.

if i recall the p pump will run without a lift pump but has fuel issues ( as in starvation above idle) and it stresses the injector pump big time I unknowingly ran my VE pump once with a bad lift pump. only lasted about 3 or 4 days after i noticed the seeming loss of power/rpm

Yes it will, but will suffer wear. The more you run it with out the lift, the more damage. Eventually it won't lift at all
