Not sure if this related (something similar has happened before).
Was getting on the freeway (setting 1/+60 also unloaded), around 80% throttle/29psi it felt as though the engine shut off. Went to idle, exhaust brake seemed engaged. Pedal only created MORE smoke. EGT climbed to 1500, coolant temp climbed to half (normally rides at 25%).
Got it off the freeway to vacant lot, shut it down.
Checked oil (black but was oil and proper level).
Checked coolant, proper level.
Waited about 2 mins, restarted fine. Idled a little rough. Responded to accelerator (though spewed black for a bit).
Drove fine for 95 miles, went to pass, around 80% throttle it stumbled again…this time I let off immediately. EGT’s climbed, was a little down on power…so I downshifted/slowed down.
Neither instance resulted in a CEL or dash warning.
The “something similar” is the high boost fuel cut. I was happened in Level 3, but I let off power and all was well.
Got to the top of the hill, EGT’s became reasonable. Switched to level 0, seems to take full throttle.
I have Calibrated Power’s Stealth 64, it is SUPPOSED to have stock VGT mapping.
Does anyone know if DRD tweaks the VGT maps?
Who does WARP tuning now?
