My Truck Ate My Fuel Funnel

    Back story.

Ok, so I bought a cheap funnel from Orliey mainly for one-time use.

    It was small and ribbed.

I didn't know that there are two sections of the capless fuel tank so it got stuck in the second one.

I didn't have anything with me to push the second one open so I yanked it out and about 3 inches of the funnel got clamped on the second one.

Eventually, I said screw it and let it fall, and filled my tank.

Will a piece of the plastic funnel in my, long term, interfere with anything?

Note: I finished the last 120 miles of my journey no with the issue.

    I know, I am an idiot.[/I]

If it were me, I would be looking at dropping the tank and getting it out.

I don't know if it will hurt to leave it in, but I would not like that piece in there for peace of mind, especially on long trips.

I don't know if it could get sucked into the fuel pump in the tank or not.

    Just my opinion.

    What a bummer!

I would look into getting it out as well.

May interfere with float as well which could cause gauge issue.

Not sure if you are on the market for a fuel pump but that could really make it worth your time dropping it.

    x3 on getting it out.

Dropping the tank isn't as scary as it sounds if you have some mechanical ability.

A couple hoses, electrical connection and 2 tank straps and it's on the ground.

I must point out the obvious and say it should be done with about an 1/8th of a tank of fuel or less unless you have a motorcycle or transmission jack.

Oh I definitely plan to get it out.

I just wanted to make sure nothing was going to be damaged until I have the time to drop the tank.

I guess this also does give me the excuse to get a FASS.
