    2008 6.7L Cummins Injector Help

    Hey yall, I got a 08 6.7 68RFE deleted on a RaceME Ultra with a 200hp tune.

I believe I’m having injector issues mainly because of these two things I’ve noticed.

On the 08s, the Ultra tuner allows me to monitor the injector balance rate for inj. 1-6, and now I’ve read everywhere that most injector sets are balances within 1% of each.

The truck has 200k on it, and I run hotshots in every way possible, but lately, I’ve been getting an occasional injector knock at mainly around idle or coming to idle.

I can then verify that an injector or two is having issues because I check the monitor, and a couple will read around the 2.9-4.7 range.

Every once in a while, I’ll see them flash to 7.0, but it maxes at 10.0. I’m assuming that’s 10% out at max abs now, the truck will hit 28-29k rail pressure and around 36-39psi, but the truck does not smoke at all, not even a pinch at the start or the end of a gear.

The truck moves but wondering if the loss of smoke is from the injectors or if the truck dialed in that well on out the box tune from RaceME.

The truck has a Banks intercooler and big charge pipes with 4inch exhaust, and now I’m ready to get injectors for the truck and mainly looking at the BBI 1.5s.

Will I need tuning to really get these injectors to come alive in the truck, or will my 200hp RaceME tune work fine for it?

And another thing is the truck has 200k, and I want to keep it.

What’s the best way of going about doing injectors?

    New tubes and all?

Yes, we highly recommend you get new tubes when doing injectors.

We only recommend S&S or BBI for CR trucks.
