Uconnect 8.4inch 4C - Radio Delaminating

Does anybody know of a fix for the radio delaminating?

The truck is out of warranty but not even 3 years old, and the dealership told me that the only fix is to replace the whole unit for $1100?

I saw some videos on YouTube about replacing just the LCD but couldn't find anything online as far as the right part.

Infotainment.com repairs them for around $600 other than that I wouldn’t know.

Is the truck drivable without the radio installed?

It is my daily driver, so I would not be able to have it down for the days it would take to be sent there and back.

I just got one ordered under warranty.

The top corners are going on mine.

The truck is 2018.

It's got 21k garage kept miles on it, so it's pretty nuts.

I pressed the dealer to get a new unit installed and not "refurbished," so we'll see.

I really wish we could get the screens to replace ourselves because the whole unit is being replaced is a shame.

Yea unfortunately I daily drive mine so I am out of the warranty based on mileage so they said there was nothing they could do other than replace it.

I just did mine.

I got the replacement screen, took it apart, spent 2 days cleaning the glue off, installed it, and it worked just fine.

I spent about 90 bucks to fix it, LOL.

I ordered a cheap screen from Amazon.

You can use your original screen.

I have to clean both of them.

I just thought it was easier to clean one side, LOL.

It takes a long, long time to get it clean, and it has to be spotless, or if a bit of glue is left, it will start doing it again

This is one I just put in a 2020 RAM 2500; this is a faster option, and you can take your old screen and clean it like crazy and have a backup unit.

This whole screen seems to work pretty well in the customer's truck.

They said it was better than spending $1200.00 on a new radio.
