    Xotic studs install

So at 125k I decided to do engine studs. After reading specs and reviews went with the Xotics that are equivalent to the ARP 2000s not the 625s. Looked up all the torque specs, watched several videos and downloaded step by step instructions. Kit came with everything needed, plenty of assembly lube etc. Took me 6 hours start to finish including setting the valve lash. The valve lash was probably the hardest to do on the back cylinders. The 6 hours was using no air or electric ratchets. Everything by hand and every bolt torqued.

Time will tell, but truck seems a little quieter, any rattle is gone (likely from setting the valves). Now I feel a little better running even mild tunes.

if anyone is unsure about doing this, here are my thoughts. I needed pretty basic tools. Only thing not basic was the 2 torque wrenches. I took my time and it really is a task that anyone with basic mechanical skills can tackle.

    Thanks for the writeup.

I just got through installing Exotic head studs also. It took me a little bit longer to do. I have broken ankle and just got out of surgery. I got board. Install was like you said pretty easy. I too noticed my truck seemed quiter after I set valves. I am going to check torque again after a few up to temp cycles of driving. But so far I'm really happy with them. I have piece of mind anyway.
