    Suncoast Transmission Install?

Hi all, I'm looking at purchasing a Suncoast category 3 68RFE; I've installed plenty of transmissions, so it's nothing too crazy to do.

My question is, to any of you who have put the line in before, how did you do the hot flush required for the warranty not to be void?

I don't own a hot flush machine, and assuming most people don't unless they also own a trans shop.

My trans now hasn't failed or anything, so contamination should be minimal to none, and I'm not expecting to need to use my warranty on a Suncoast product, but it is part of what you're paying 10k+ for, so I'd like to not void it right out of the box.

My only thought to avoid this issue is to replace the trans cooler and lines; then, I have no worries about anything.

Still, clean fluid ever touching the new trans and screwing up warranty should I need it, and for those wondering why I don't just have a shop put it in or build it, I'm in Denver, and ATS pretty much dominates here.

I don't believe there are any Suncoast installers or builders here, so I'd be in warranty roulette again.

Anyway, thanks for any input you all may have, or maybe I'm way overthinking this whole warranty thing; it wouldn't be the first time, hahaha.

Have you checked with transmission shops in your local area to see if they can perform a hot flush?

We usually sell more Randy's transmissions and Revmax trans than anything.

We sell a few Suncoasts here and there, but mostly Randy's.

The others, to my knowledge, do not require a hot flush.

I recommend replacing the cooler with a Mishimoto cooler adding a thermostat bypass, and cleaning the lines with brake cleaner.

I have found some, and it seems to me though it would defeat the purpose if i flushed it then drove it with the old trans back home to replace it?

This also got me thinking about how they could tell if it was hot flushed or not?

If the new trans failed, you should have contamination all over the place, and it would be impossible to tell it was the contamination that caused the failure or the other way around.

I'll have a look at your shop.

I'm pretty set on Suncoast since I'm a loyalist, last one was built when i was in FL so i had no issue.

However, I have heard nothing but good things about Randy's.

This is the route I'm leaning to, and possibly looking into the tans line kits that replace the steel lines with the hose.

I know they make the kit from the 2nd Gens since my stock lines rubbed through and started pissing fluid everywhere, I don't know if they make the kits for 4th gens or if the trans lines wearing through is still an issue but I'll have a look.

As long as you get the Sonnax od drum or their mega v2 drum and not their old mega jr, Suncoast is a solid choice.

They make a hell of a converter but they machine their own billet faces and use their own proprietary clutch’s so they can only be rebuilt by them.

    Sounds like a plan!

I appreciate the opportunity and if you want Suncoast we can do that as well for ya if you are not already working with anyone.

I’ve got a Suncoast that Phil redid at DPC; now I wonder what’s in it?
