    Turbo Advice? - (2018 RAM 2500)

I need some advice; I have a 2018 RAM 2500, which has been deleted and tuned by DRD since 2019.

I don’t drive the truck a ton and only have 45k miles on it.

Recently have been getting multiple codes regarding the turbo P003A, P00AF, P226C, and U010c.

I’ve decided to upgrade the turbo instead of trying to mess with the actuator or cleaning the turbo.

I don’t need the engine brake since I sold my boat and don’t tow very heavily anymore.

So my question is, do I go with something like a fleece cheetah, or do I go non-VGT like the BD iron horse kit, etc.?

The next question is if I go with the iron horse, do I need to change the tune on the truck since this turbo is a non-VGT?

I am looking for recommendations and any experience.

Looking for a mild setup, I should add.

From what I've read over the years, the least amount of work would be a Cheetah.

If you add non-VGT, tuning and head studs are highly required.

If you're looking for a drop-in without doing many other upgrades, I'd probably go with a Cheetah.

Then again, almost everyone recommends head studs for any aftermarket Turbo; Cheetah included for peace of mind.

    Thank you.

ARP’s are already ordered and on their way; I figured they would be recommended.

I figured the Cheetah would probably be the easiest solution.

I just don’t want to be doing this again in 4-5 years

    You're welcome.

I'll add I'd recommend you understand what you want goals-wise in 4-5 years if you don't want to be doing it again.

Any VGT comes with actuator complications, but for "ease" of installation, it's all a give-and-take scenario.

For a nice setup that you'll probably never have to touch again, I'd recommend a compound setup from DPS, but that comes with a price tag and a whole host of other items required to support it.

For a "drop-in" with the least amount of supporting equipment?

Cheetah for sure, but something you're not going to want to replace in 4-5 years?

Again goes back to your goals and how much boot-scootin-boogeyin' makes you smile.
