I have the dreaded “service anti-lock brake system” illuminated.
My 18 RAM has 68K mi.
I guess I’ll get it scanned today.
Has anybody had any experience with this dreaded message?
Thanks

Yes, performing a complete system scan is the best place to start.
Most likely, the HCU or ABS module is bad as they are problematic, especially in the 2018s.
See the information in the link below.

2014 RAM 3500 (Aisin) 3.73 4X4 Limited Crew Cab Long Bed DRW. Oil Bypass Filter, Fuel Filtration Kit, Cold Air Intake, City Diesel Actuator, Steed Speed Exhaust Manifold, Glacier Diesel Intake Horn and 50 Gallon Aux Fuel Tank.
Came back code.
U1010E lost com with a reluctant control module.
This code is normal on a deleted truck and nothing to worry about.
Not sure what scan tool you are using, but make sure it’s scanning all modules.

I wasn't aware of that.
However, the ABS light comes on and takes out my cruise control too.
Yes, an ABS trouble code will disable the cruise control.
Lower-end scan tools at your local parts store typically don't scan all modules.

You are correct, the scan was done at O’Reilly‘s auto parts, so I’m unsure about the scanner's quality.
So if I take my truck to the dealer and they scan it, and I guaranteed they will not screw up my computer/ECM?
You may want to consider the investment if you know someone with a higher-end scanner like an Autel or Snap-On.
AlfaOBD will scan all modules for around $200 if you already have a Windows laptop or Android tablet.
You may be able to find a local Auto repair shop that will perform a complete system scan for a reasonable price.

Well, it turned out to be the dreaded HCU which, incidentally, the new design is still in engineering.
To get some relief when the replacement is finally released, you must have your truck scanned by RAM and then open a case through RAM Care.
Now the waiting game begins.
Thank you to all that replied
Well, today, we tackled replacing the HCI unit.
This was no easy task and took the biggest part of the day.
I procured a brake bleed device like the one pictured here https://www.harborfreight.com/pneuma...kit-57057.html.
I feel in my mind that i got as much of the air out as humanly possible, but as others have said, you definitely need a scan tool to operate the ABS.
My scan tool has not come in yet, but will complete this task when it does.
The good news is that there is no more ABS traction control light.
Hello, cruise control.
