I didn’t see that on the recommended list of Bluetooth adapters at AlfaOBD.

The LX was recommended to me by MDT_Tech-Toyota.

I guess it connects to only Android, but the mx can connect to iOS.

    Alfa is only Windows-based, anyway.

At present, the following types of interfaces are supported:

    • OBDLink MX+/LX/EX/SX/CX and STN11xx - STN21xx based devices. The OBDLink MX+ Bluetooth or OBDLink EX USB are the recommended interfaces for the vehicles with the high-speed CAN bus on pins 6 and 14, and the middle-speed CAN bus on the pins 3 and 11 of the vehicle OBD socket. These are most of the PowerNet and CUSW-based Chrysler/Dodge/Ram (with the exception of RAM Pro Master before 2022 and RAM Pro Master City)/Jeep vehicles starting from about 2012, and Fiat Tipo/Egea. No additional adapters are needed on these cars when using OBDLink EX or MX+.because these units have the built-in ability to connect to the middle-speed CAN bus.

2014 RAM 3500 (Aisin) 3.73 4X4 Limited Crew Cab Long Bed DRW. Oil Bypass Filter, Fuel Filtration Kit, Cold Air Intake, City Diesel Actuator, Steed Speed Exhaust Manifold, Glacier Diesel Intake Horn and 50 Gallon Aux Fuel Tank.

    Wow!

Okay, that makes sense now because those are the two wires I had to route to my security bypass cable.

I’ll be returning the LX and getting the MX.

Yes, I am not saying anyone gave you any wrong information or advice, as it works fine for the older year trucks.

However, the LX may not work well with the newer trucks.

I think the MX is worth a try, especially if you can return the LX for a refund.

I got mine from Amazon; please keep us posted.

Absolutely, I bet it is not as common to know that about the new trucks if you own a 4th gen or earlier.

No harm, no foul; I am returning it to Amazon and just ordered the MX!

    Thanks again, Ak Bob!

You are always helping everyone on here!

Alfa is Windows or Android, depending on which version you bought.

I have an Android (Autel MS906BT) and a Windows 10 laptop.

I have been using my Windows laptop with a handheld roller mouse.

I got the PM; yes, I suggested MX or MX+, the MX being Windows or Android, while the + version also did Apple, which AlfaODB doesn't support.

The only thing I can think of is that I fat-fingered the post, and it looks like it may have cost you some time if I said LX.

I wasn't even aware of an LX version. My humble apologies for costing you some wasted time.

OK, see, your rig is a 21; I also got the 8/12 bypass cable to add to my Autel scan tool blow molded case along with an OBD-II cable with a USB plug for the Autel.
