I'm new to the forum world but not to the Cummins.
I am Glad to be here after a few different tunes I've owned before, and by far, DRD being my favorite, I had to come back and look to purchase one for my 21' HO.
I now have a 2010 2500 with Trans issues before and after the rebuild.
Long Story short, both my trucks haul dump trailers daily.
Anywhere from 3k lbs to 14k lbs.
My 2010 68RFE back in September started getting hot while towing and sometimes staying in gear.
That Trans, on the worst day, saw 260 degrees temp but never slipped.
The truck already has 250k miles of constant towing.
I sent the truck to a local transmission shop that built my buddy's 68RFE, and he was happy with the build.
The truck gets delivered Monday, trans is removed Tuesday, and I'm shown pictures of the clutches Wednesday.
They seemed blueish and burnt; he tells me the trans and truck were all back together and tested Friday afternoon.
He claims when he drove it, it never passed 160 degrees trans temp, but within 30 minutes of my trip back home, trans reached 210 degrees, going ~70ish on the highway.
I take it back to him Monday morning; he calls me back later in the day and wants to put the truck back to stock tune or see if there is a way to tell what the lock-up maybe because he thinks the torque converter is the issue.
I am in massive need of my truck for my business and need help ASAP.
Can anyone comment or probably try to help me diagnose the issue?
I am unsure if it needs a new tune after a rebuild, but I am seeking guidance.
I appreciate any help you can provide.
