    2014 RAM 6.7 Cummins - Injector noise?

Hey everyone, my truck seems grumpy until she reaches operating temp.

I try to let her warm up usually to at least 125 before I drive.

I’m hearing what sounds like a lean injector noise /knocking sound.

It's almost like she’s huffing some ether.

    No, I don’t use ether.

She starts fine, and once she’s up to 190-200 degrees, she runs/ and sounds normal.

Is this a developing injector failure, or am I just being overly sensitive to the sounds my truck is making.

    Thank you,
    MikeAce

You might hear an injector knock; a video or soundtrack could help clarify.

If so, you must perform an injector kill test to isolate the faulty injector.

The easiest way to perform this test is with a scan tool; otherwise, you must manually disconnect each injector one at a time.

The weather is not cold enough, 40 degrees.

AK Bob, I will run an injector kill test over the weekend.

Like I said, I only hear it when the block is cold.

I doubt I could get a sound clip to pick it up. It’s faint, but it’s there.

I run Hot Shot’s secret EDT in every tank like it won’t run without it.

I’m pretty sure they are the original injectors with 150k on them.

As I’ve owned the truck since 80k.

It’s a long shot, but the added cetane booster creates the sound; as I type, it seems as wild as it sounds.

I know I’ve said this before, but I’ll repeat it.

I should have chosen Drugs or Alcohol over Diesel.

It could have been So much cheaper!

Thank you all for reading and helping out
