Thread: Can I Run 295/65/20 Front And 35X11.50X20 On Rear?

Can I Run 295/65/20 Front And 35X11.50X20 On Rear?

I have an odd question, but I thought I would throw it out there and see if anyone can help me.

I currently have a Toyo Extreme AT II 295/65/20s set on my 2012 3500 4X4 SRW (The front set has 10/32nds while the rear set has 6/32nds). I bought them that way (I do rotate my tires).

I just purchased a set of used 35X11.50X20 Toyo AT Extreme III.

Two have 10/32nds on them, and the other has 6/32nds, so it matches the 295s.

My question is, can I run the Extreme IIIs I just purchased on the rear while keeping my Extreme IIs on the front?

They have the same tread wear and are extremely close in size (near exact).

The only difference would be the new tread pattern on the Extreme III's.

They are both Load E-rated tires (yes, there is some difference in the load rating between the metric and imperial size tires, but it's not much, and I don't ever carry heavy weights).

DOT manufacture dates are within about a year and a half of each other.

    From tire size conversion website: 295/65/20 = 35.1" X 11.6" X R20"

I appreciate any input that is provided.

    Cheers

I would NEVER run tires of different sizes.

You are asking for trouble doing that.

Plus, you will destroy your drivetrain gears (4x4) because of the offset between the two sizes.

It could also cause you to lose control and crash.
