    Re: Oil Change Intervals

I am subscribed to both of their channels, as that video has excellent info.

I have been telling people this for many, many years.

Oil analysis is the only way to determine your vehicle's best oil change interval.

I have been doing oil analysis on my diesels for over 20 years.

My interval is not yours, as we all drive and use our trucks differently.

I haul trailers that typically weigh 10-14Klbs.

I live in a rural farm country, so most of my driving is all highway at 55-65 MPH speeds.

I change mine every 8K miles as I have an oil analysis to back up my intervals.

I usually get recommendations, and I can go additional miles.

One of the biggest failures in manufacturer oil change recommendations has been to tie oil changes to miles driven.

It is the only industry that does this, as everyone else goes by hours of operation.

Perfect examples are police or construction vehicles that spend hours idling without putting miles on the vehicle.

The perfect tracking system would be miles of operation for chassis components and hours of operation for drivetrain components.
