    WTB: Custom Front / Rear Ring / Pinion

    I have a 2007.5 Dodge RAM 6.7L dually with a G56 with the .79 6th gear.

    I do a lot of empty highway driving and roughly 3k miles a year towing 26k GCWV.

    I want to get my RPM at 70 down in the neighborhood of 1600.

    It is currently at 2100.

    I’m going to be doing a full differential overhaul soon and want to get custom ring and pinion gears to lower the rpm

    This is a first, LOL.

    I usually don't or ever have had anyone go backward.

    Maybe once, but they swapped axles for the newer trucks with the 3.42s.

    That might be a possibility for you or if you can find OEM gears, as I think all of the aftermarket gears go up vs down.

    I just checked, and Yukon Gears offers a 3.42.

    I'm sure I could find the complete kit for you if you are interested.

    I was looking for something in the roughly 3.00 to 3.10 range.

    I did the math, and with the 3.73 I already have, it would only take me to 1830 ish with the 3.42.

    I’m just not too keen on the gear vendors unit because of the extra failure point in the driveline, and from what I can find, no one has re-geared a G56.
