I had the recall done on Friends 2017 RAM 2500 4th Gen 6.7L.

I returned the truck from the dealer; they said it was ready to be inspected.

I plugged in the OBD 2 port.

All of the sensors were red and had not reset after the update.

I drove the vehicle almost 2000 miles, but the sensor still had not reset the DPF, and the HCC was still showing red; I drove the truck an additional 300 miles, and finally, all the sensors turned green.

Before going the last 300 miles, I received two error codes on the dashboard.

The display indicated excessive airflow in the EGR and advised to take the vehicle to the dealer.

The second was a DPF malfunction, and I was also advised to take the vehicle to the dealer.

After a trip to the dealer (Dallas Dodge), they could not find any malfunction in diagnostics at the owner's expense of $200.

They did say there were other vehicles there with issues due to the recall.

They just advised me to continue to drive the vehicle to allow the sensors to reset.

An additional 300 miles were driven from Dallas, TX, to San Antonio, and the truck finally reset all sensors and systems.

Then it went on a diet.

It took over six cold starts and over 3000 miles of various driving conditions and speeds to recalibrate all the sensors and systems due to the recall.

Rumor is that after 1/1/25, Texas will no longer require vehicle inspections; thank God, let it start somewhere.

Now just lower the damn fuel prices.

Amen.
