EPA issues $10 million in fines for making, selling, and installing 'defeat devices' for diesel trucks

"The civil lawsuit alleges that from at least 2014 through mid-2019, Rudy's and Rudolf manufactured and sold over 250,000 products designed to remove or disable EPA-mandated emissions controls.

These products included hardware parts such as plates that block a vehicle's exhaust gas recirculation system and pipes that replace pollution treatment components in a vehicle's exhaust system."

I just saw this the other day.

I have a friend who owns a shop here in California who I will not name but he got caught and is being pressured with lawsuits and blackmail from the EPA and CARB to give up his receipt logs to customers who bought tuners and deleted pipes so CARB and EPA can start going after owners of the truck and slapping them with jail time and millions in fines so be careful.

A good rule of thumb is to use prepaid debit cards and fake names to buy parts, but it's what "i" have done for the last 15 years. If someone ever comes knocking, I'll say, "I don't know who Harry Nutz is you must have the wrong address, LOL.
