4th Gen CM Flatbed Install?

Hello, I have questions about my 2018 RAM RAM 2500 SRW long bed.

I'm getting a CM SK2 skirted flatbed delivered.

I haven't messed with the 4th Gens and flatbeds, but I'm about to, haha, so 1st question is mounting locations and brackets.

The front has a 3'' gap from the bottom flatbed rail to the stock mounting bracket.

CM says to use a piece of the channel as a spacer, weld it to the bed, and bolt it to the factory location.

It seems kinda weak.

I'm wondering if anyone has come up with a better solution.

It looks janky to me after dropping 10k for a bed.

CM sells install kits but does not have much info on them, such as "can I just use some flat plate to weld to bed and then bolt to frame?

Also, there are fuel filler neck and DEF neck options.

If anyone has any info or pictures of the installations, I would greatly appreciate it.
