    Tool Kit Necessities?

I want help to build my "tool kit" in my truck.

What specialty tools would be essential to have while on the road and needing a quick but specific repair?

I dont want a whole wrench set; what are these trucks' standard sizes?

I don't have room for a whole socket set; what are the best sizes to keep on hand?

Does anyone have any suggestions for this? I know the fuel filter cap takes 28mm; bad fuel can strike at any time.

Maybe a set of filter pliers for a water filter?

I need the basics: screwdrivers, pliers, tape, and zip ties.

I want some specifics, too, for specialty things.

I know the injector lines used to be 19mm; is that still true?

Would that be a handy size?

    Please give me suggestions here!!!

I want to be prepared as best I can without always having a fully stocked toolbox in the truck.

I keep a small bag in my truck with standard and metric sockets, oil filter and fuel filter wrenches, screwdrivers, wire ties, a voltage light tester, etc.

Always keep a couple of extra 10mm sockets.

Those things seem to disappear on their own!

    Re: Tool Kit Necessities?

Depending on what you are preparing for: a full metric socket set is almost a necessity as fasteners from 6mm-24?

    Are used.

I would say have whatever you normally use for basic maintenance including the special tools for filters, wrenches for injector lines and tubes, etc.

Sorry, can’t be more specific but each persons preparedness level and skill set will be different.

Gorilla tape is a must, as is electrical tape, some extra fluids, jump pack, etc.

Either on board air or small compressor. Fuses.Oh yeah, and no matter how prepared, that 10mm is going to be hiding from you.

Yea, that touches somewhat of my thinking.

What size are the injector lines?

Thats the things I want to know as well.

    Any suggestions are worth offering.

I will sort out what I would consider a quick roadside repair myself.

I have plenty of good buddies that I wont be stranded long. But

If I have the means Ill fix it and get moving again.

I just dont want to have a bunch of unnecessary tools on hand that are taking up space.

I believe 19mm for lines and 24mm for the tubes from YouTube.

    I haven’t touched mine yet.
