There is no data link connector on my truck. I'm going to have to wire one in. Does anyone have the Dodge schematics 2006 early 5.9l no DPF. Looking for j1939 ecm pin location.

You have the Edge? Click me a pic of the connecter on the Edge. I'm pretty sure it's there.

The leads are only a couple of inches long

I'm not trying to hook up edge. I'm trying to hook up Cummins Insite.

Sorry for misunderstanding. Let me start over here. I am a heavy duty diesel mechanic. On the big trucks we use a program called Cummins Insite. Cummins Insite uses j1939 and j1708 data link. I was told that on the second gen dodges you can hook Insite up. I was wondering if there is a way to hook up to a 3rd gen Dodge. The OBDII port carries a j1939 can signal, but the signal is not for the ECM. I wanted to know if anyone has done this and if there is a schematic for the ecm were I can tap into it. The reason behind this is so I can program the ECM.

Now That is a horse of a different color.

There's an FSM in the premium members section you can down load. But, you have to become a Premium to get it.

I mentioned I didn't know that plug by number. There's a 3 or 4 wire plug capped off that is a data port. I have it on my 03 for sure. I thought you said Insite, which is where the Edge plug in. 2006 was CanBus, mandatory, may have taken the port away. But it seems to me I had on one my 08. We can't be talking about the same port then.

This is the connector Cummins uses on the heavy duty side. It on the engine harness. I want to wire in something like this.

Did you find the connector I was talking about? I wonder if you can make an adaptor. That;s not the plug on these. The Dodge is straight across. You still need the diagram
