Bully Dog (triple dog gt tuner)

I called local diesel shop looking for a FASS fuel system. They asked what kind of MODS I have on the truck and I told them it was true 2004 2500 with 5.9 and only had the Bully dog on it. He proceeds to tell me that, that was the worse thing I could have done because the 5.9 doesn't like all that extra fuel. An that he blew two of the 5.9's with the same tuner that I have.

So guess the Question is has anyone else heard anything like this before?????

There's millions of 5.9's with a FASS on them. Better tell the owners it's no good. . . . Including me.

Go to our vendor list and pick a vendor to buy it from. Support our vendors.

The engine only takes what it needs. The excess goes back to the tank. The idea of the FASS is to remove any air from cavitation out of the fuel and to filter better. Not to mention reliability.

    2003- 3500 RWD Automatic.
S & B intake, BD Intercooler, Pusher Air Horn, MM3 Double R Tuning, Turbo Timer, electric Flex-a-lite fans, FASS 95,
50 HP tips, upgrade to 351 turbo, 3.42 gears, Twin air compressors, air bags, Remote dual oil filters, Hellwig sway bar, Front Winch. Home made Fuel Heater, BD Exhaust brake with Torque Lock. Tons of TLC

Tuners are good. IF! You run them within the limits of the engine. Or you don't keep beating the crap out of it. Usually head studs and transmission mods are all that need to be tended too if you plan to push the truck to the stops.

That's just it, I had on there for at lease 2 yrs. an love it. It's just the way he said it got me a little aggravated and p.oed made me think that he didn't know his head from his but. I never ran it in extreme but keep it in tow performance (+75).
I guess it's just one of those things that get under your skin.

Oh yeah. I agree with you 100%. I've been going through just that with some transmission parts until I found the guy I ordered from. Cascade Transmission

I've heard both good and bad about bully dog... but they just recently got bought out by SCT which I know does wonders for the Ford guys. But in years past I've known of a duramax that had nothing but issues with a bully on it... if it's working for ya, then it's working for ya. There's better out there, but it is what it is. As for the FASS, I can't recommend putting one of them on enough. Will prevent and solve alot of problems.
