question on fuel filter water seperator

I was looking at amazon for the fs53000 fuel filter and I saw a set for a fuel filter and a water separator set for 6.7l. is there 2 separate filters. I only ask cause I have yet to change my fuel filter since buying my truck 1 year ago.....yeah I know, I'm behind. I've put 22,000 mile on it, but the filter was just changed before I bought the truck. I plan on changing it after xmas. Are there 2 different filters? And if so. What do I need to buy? thanks

As far as I know, it's a single screw on. It's a real PITA to change too. If you have a Cab and Chassis, it may be different, but I don't think so. I think it's probably poorly described. Amazon is difficult as they limit the info you can provide

In the 10-12 I think there is only one? I could be wrong though. I know for sure the 13+ have to 2 separate filters

Only one fuel filter on the 10-12 trucks. It is drop in element filter that goes inside the fuel/water separator. FYI, sometimes the plastic screw on cap for the filter housing can a pain break loose if it was overtightened.

FS53000 is an excellent filter. It filters down to 3 microns I think. Being its a Fleetguard filter, you'd probably have to look for it at a place that sells and service Cummins engines. You can order them online. Try Geno's Garage on the web.

Don't know if you shop on Amazon or not but here's a link to one.

    Fleetguard FS53000 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00D8JSMUA..._lEwEwbN9S0KXQ

Genos is a great place for filters also.

The Mopar filter is made by Fleetguard also. Part number for it is 68157291AA

I buy which ever is the cheaper of the two.

Edit: didn't read your original post good enough. I'm sure u already found the same filter I put a link too.

Also on the plastic cap I use a 1 1/8" Impact socket. Fits the tightest of everything I've tried.

ok thanks, there is a Cummings dealer about 90 miles away, may be stopping there on Monday on way back from folks xmas. Now how about a question on the CCV. I do not know when it was last changed. I looked a genos garage and saw the cleaning kit for the EGR that comes with a CCV, But I had my EGR cooler and valve replaced by the dealer when I bought the truck, it was plugged at no cost to me (thank god), but I do not know if they replaced the CCV. Should I just go ahead a replace it anyway? Or should I wait?
