    Question 06 5.9 cummins # 6 piston low compression

    6 new injectors and a new CP3 pump,, compression test says # 1- 5 pistons hav the normal 500 psi but #6 piston only has 50 psi,, do yall think ill b fine with just replacing #6 piston and putting all new rings in? Of course boring is idea but will it b strong w just doin this?? Help appreciated. THANKS A LOT

    it might be it might not be, it depends on what you find once it is opened up.

    From what is stated so far it is hard to determine and give you one complete answer. It can be rings, or even a small gasket leak, almost anything is possible. I agreee with @
    F350Cummins, until it is open, it's guessing.

    My o5 had 250 psi in #1 I pulled it and installed new piston and rings cylinder had deep scratches when done it had 350 psi and 2500 miles later it's back to a 5 cylinder. Hard to believe it only has 50psi did they retest that cyl does it have a blowby issue if not don't worry do the oil cap test with only 250psi in 1 cyl my oil cap would jump off the valve cover with only 50psi your oil cap should fly off your valve cover. Try it unscrew oil cap place it upside down with engine running
