dodge 2009 2500 4 door slt 4x4

looking at purchasing a used 2009 dodge with 6.7 Cummins diesel. dealer says it has a 6 speed Allison transmission. can anyone verify this. i check vin# and it does not say what kind of transmission was installed just 6 speed. vehicle has 55k miles and is 4x4 4 door SLT 2500
i also have read some articles that if you do a delete on EGR and DPF the extra power generated will affect transmission.

any other comments will be appreciated. the online community has lots of things to say. i am just having a hard time separating fact from fiction.
i will use this to tow a 12,000 lb boat

i have two ford diesels 2008 and 2010 both have 100k mi and one is broken and the other is ready to go looking at doing an EGR & DPF delete on it.

I would try to find any identification on the transmission itself. There should be a serial number tag on the passenger side of the transmission. If there is one you can identify it on the Allison transmission website.

We would highly doubt the Allison transmission is in there. Tell them you want proof first.

Yeah unless it was a conversion I doubt that's what it is. It's possible that's it's been converted but like I said should be a serial tag on there then you can properly identify.

thanks for your comments i will ask them. sales man says he just sells. they have 6 mechanics on staff so maybe one of them can prove it. i don't think any work was done on truck was used by Dow corp on Kauai so it was a daily work truck.
