    P7100 Pump Questions...

OK, my build is slowly moving along, not as fast as I had hoped, but parts seem to be getting harder to come by for a 12 Valve. Anyways, I do have a few questions that I can't really find the answers to after three days of looking.

    1. On the fuel shut-off solenoid attachment lever, is the upper hole supposed to be a through hole or is it threaded?

    2. I first thought I had to get a pump rebuild because my fuel rack was stuck, but when I loosened the delivery valve holders, the rack sort of moved. Well, being curious, I pulled the holders and found this mess in this order. Also, no delivery valves were inside the bore. So, my question, I am seriously considering 191s due to the price difference. Why are 191s so much cheaper than any other alternative?

    3. On top of that above, is there a spring out there cheaper than $16 and $13 shipping? As you can see, there is one in the picture that is ruined.

    4. Lastly, shims at the top or what I assume are shims, what are those really for?

    5. My AFC bolts are stripped as you can see. Other than welding/drilling/re-tapping, any other options you guys can think of to fix that?

    Thank you in advance.

I can't help you on that. But @Accurate Diesel may be able too.

Was that pump welded? He may have those springs too.

No, it wasn't welded. The AFC housing was, what I assume, JB Welded down to the housing. I started chipping it off and can't find any cracks. I think it was "glued" down because it was stripped and the one AFC housing tab was snapped off.

Everything is threaded you need to retap the threads since you have it off bud everything is threaded into the P7100 is a great injection pump you can get some stuff from Genos Garage as far as solenoid

I thought about doing helicoils, problem is, the hole size for the largest problem hole is .300". The drill size for the tap required to put the helicoil in is .244". I am starting to think of making an interference style insert plug.

There are solid thread inserts you can use too. the only other thing you can do is have the hole welded and then retap. .244 is 1/4 inch .3 is almost 3/8 if my marbles are rattling right. I lost some of that info with the strokes. I have to refer to charts. How about getting a good used body?

Thank you sir, you actually helped remind me of something I haven't used in forever called EZ LOKs. Those will work. That puts the drill diameter at .334". As far as a good body, I don't have all the tools to completely rip down the pump and I definitely don't have the manual for a complete rebuild. I figure any of the special tools I need, I can make in my machine shop, but the manual seems to be extremely hard to find or even come by. Again, thank you for the reminder.

EZLok is what I was thinking of
